I love how religious people romanticize Jesus' "sacrifice" on the cross. I'm sure crucifixion is a b1tch, but I'm also sure it's water under the bridge compared with the holy carnage God himself rained down on mankind. Plus he got to be not dead anymore after 3 days.

Agree. Why trust MS to have reasonable digital pricing when 360 digital download pricing has been far from reasonable?

I still won't trust MS. They can just do what they did with 360 and change the gameplan mid-cycle. 'Oh, you thought we'd continue to cater to the core gamer and invest in first party like (you thought) we did that first year after 360's launch? sorry, we suggest you use this lube that came back with SOMEONE ELSE'S refurbished console and assume a bent over position...'

Overall a good read and it raises some fair points. The ideas presented could have been fleshed out a bit more, but better than much of the crap writing that hits 500+ degrees on n4g. : /

Interesting how the author reminds us that things change, and that MS pretty much were the ones to usher in online gaming for consoles. For me, I'm still certain that I'll be investing in PS4 when I'm ready to go nextgen, for now. It'll really take a sea change for me to ...

Your numbers are just obviously off. Exaggerate much?

Your logic is arguably off, too, since you're ignoring singleplayer.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to support studios that make whatever you find to be a quality product. Same principle as not buying used video games to reward/motivate/sponsor devs. So there's at least 1 reason why someone might willingly pay for porn even with knowledge of how to get access to free content.

Maybe you were just kidding or something, but 'no offense' makes me think maybe you weren't. Sometimes I wonder why people can't seem to us...

Can't I legitimately enjoy any amount of freaky porn/erotica without ever wanting to act on it IRL? (That's a rhetorical question - the answer is Yes.) That's why someone might want to 'pay for monthly porn when [they could] pay a $30 hooker', MassEffect23.

Else you could argue the same thing about video games, silly. 'Why pay for Madden when I can go play a game of actual footall?' 'Why pay for COD when I can go join the Army?' etc.

@guitarded: interesting. just like how sony seem to be dealing with DRM.

Geez, 75 comments under such a poorly written piece. Seriously, folks.

Just a couple of examples:
"Fallout 4 on PS4 to stop financial suicide – the opinion of most gamers is pretty clear since hearing the exclusive rumors, and that’s the idea of limiting Fallout 4 to one system would be financial suicide for Bethesda."

I had to read that sentence thrice to understand the 'financial suicide' scenario meant that gamers expect that Bet...

Edonus has 9 disagrees but no real counterargument. Reminds me why I love n4g. /s

Edit: I don't think there's anything wrong with PS4 being basically PS3 on steroids, if true. Only thing I have a problem with is typical n4g Sony worship in place of, I don't know... Actual discussion?

I kept thinking "The Emporer's New Clothes".

I've played through twice now and have viewed/heard 95%+ voxophones, etc. Pretty sure there are several plot holes, which makes the obtuseness of the story just pretentious.

And the gameplay definitely suffers vs original BioShock. I mostly miss the smaller, more finely crafted environments.

the rest of the features (hips, legs) are exaggerated as well. there may be some truth to the necromancy idea, but I think marketing and the artist's fascination with voluptuousness have more to do with the design than the back story does.

of course, I remain almost as anti-censorship as they come. just sayin let's be real...

EDIT: 'or course' to 'of course'

the :39 clip reminds me of the Cold Mountain soundtrack. I guess there's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from that - it's a fantastic film score.

"Mass Effect 3 succeeding in emotionally attaching you to characters."

really? I've played ME1&2 through several times each, but returned ME3 shortly after Garrus. I guess you find unironic, uninspired references to good times with previous games to be emotionally involving. good on you.

the gaming industry needs more good writers and dialogue that doesn't sound about as polished as 6th grade fanfiction
